California HERE WE COME!

Chris and I leave for California in 3 days and we cant wait! We are so excited that we get to spend Christmas with our friends and family! We will be there for 3weeks. We don't really have anything planned, just to enjoy some warmer weather! Its been 27degrees here and that's COLD! We had snow one day and that was really neat to see. I am also really excited that i get to bring my dog Chewie home with me! I have missed her so much.
Well we have lots to do before we leave.

Skype Anyone?

Dose anyone use SKYPE? Chris and I were introduced to this by my brother. He uses it to talk to his friend in the UK. Its really awesome, and 100% FREE! Skype is a video phone, a webcam is not needed but its really neat being able to talk to some one and see them at the same time. Its really helps to make you not feel so far apart! I use it to talk to my parents, and we don't feel so far apart when we can see them when we want. So if you ever want to Skype us our ID is cbwares, or my email brittneywares@yahoo.com

November Update!

So there have been alot of things that have happened and i just have not had time to really blog about them... so i am going to say it all right now...

Starting with we moved into our very own house and we are loving every min here! We have 4 acres of land and Toby loves being able to run around as much as he wants without a leash! We have a 3 Bed, 2 1/2 Bath with a basement. Its an older home but fits us perfectly. Unfortunately we do not have any furniture. Our landlord is really great, he is letting us use what he has in the house, which isn't much, but fun for entertaining. We have a pool table, dart board, pinball machine, poker table, and a kitchen table and chairs! So that's pretty much it that in our house except for the air mattress that Chris and I have been sleeping on. We don't even have a TV! We have cable and internet just no TV. So when we want to watch something we either put in a DVD into our laptop or watch whatever we can on youtube or something else. What can i say we are truly living like newly weds and we are loving every min of it!

So Next.... I had a job change. I was working at Southern Showcase selling Modular Homes, and at first it seemed like it could be a really great job, but as time went on i learned alot of things about the company that i just didn't agree with. Plus the hours that i worked really took away from spending time with Chris. I was not home until 7:30 every night, so we never shared a meal together and only spent a few hours each night together. So starting this Tuesday, i am going to learn to become a florist! I am really excited about this opportunity that i have. I have such a creative mind, and i love to decorate not to mention love flowers! So why not do something that i really have a passion for. Best of all, I'm really excited to learn how to take care of flowers, and plants so that i can have them all over my yard and house and i wont kill them!

Our puppy Toby, has really grown alot! I remember when i could hold him in one arm and now i can hardly pick him up. He has grown out of his small cage, and upgraded to a bigger one! We are hoping that this will be the last cage that we will have to buy since they are not very cheap!

Our Final and most recent change was the purchase of a "NEW" (to us) Car!
With the weather starting to change its been getting colder and colder here! When we wake up in the mornings its about 27 degrees outside! Burr.... and poor Chris has had no other type of transportation other than his motorcycle! Even though we only live about 7miles away from the track its been so cold, where he has had to pull of the side of the road and warm his hands up in the exhaust! So we have been looking for a cheap car that will get us threw the winter and Chris finally found a car that i think is perfect for him a 1991 RX7! We drove to Richmond on Saturday (about 2 1/2 hours away) and came home with a new car. The drive home was really interesting when we learned that the windows were broken and they were down! So we had our winter jackets on, heat on high, and 2 1/2 hours later we were home! Today we worked on the car, washed it, painted the wheels black, fixed the windows, changed the brakes, and a few minor things. But its in great condition and we are looking forward to having a fun little car that we can play with. Chris is excited because next Friday he is allowed to take the car on the track and race around. I just hope that he wont get any other ideas come next Friday! Here are the pics of our new car.

Our original idea that we were going to go as was a couple of nerds (we figured we could come up with something that we already had at home) Well after just browsing some shops we ended up changing our costumes completely! Chris went as "IRON MAN" and i went as a chick from the 80's we had alot of fun putting these costumes together. The best part is, i used a jacket that my mom use to wear!! Here's some pics

Race Season Is OVER!

We finished our race season with a great final race in Atlanta Georgia! It was a great race too! The winner of the 2008 Jetta TDI cup was Josh Hurley!
He really deserved the win too, he raced hard this season and had no support from his family.
He walked away with $100,000 a chance is race in the pollo cup in Germany,
he also gets to be a guest race car driver in another race in Germany.
Chris and all the guys worked so hard this season especially the last 3 weeks he was gone and only home for 3nights! They traveled from Iowa-New Jersey- Georgia without a day off!
Each weekend they worked from 4-5 in the morning till 12:30 at night!
I am so proud of all the guys they really did go above and beyond at every race. Sleep was not an option for these guys. They finished off this season with a really nice banquet and really showed appreciation to all the Techs, because with out them this team would not be here today.
They gave each Tech a personalized Tork Wrench with there name on it. It was really fitting for each guy. Here are some pics from Georgia

My First Day at Work!

Well i started my job yesterday, and it was a really long day for me. Since I'm use to waking up around 10:30-11 every morning, when my alarm went off at 6:30am it was horrible! So i got up got ready had some breakfast and then it was off to my first day at work at
Southern Showcase Home Sales! Everyone that i work with are all really nice, i even have my own office! So my first day was really boring all i did was read this story book that they want me to memorize so that i will be able to flip through it and know what i am talking about when i have a customer in my office. So needless to say i was really tired and the day just seemed to drag on and on! Well today i got smart and i brought my laptop with me. So here i sit writing my blog. Currently i am not allowed to greet any customers or answer the phone until i return from boot camp! So the next few weeks are going to be really boring, but I'm going to try to learn as much as possible. I;m just happy to be out of the office and around people!!

4 Months and Counting

Today marks 4 months for Chris and I as husband and wife! This is also a special day because Chris proposed to me 1 year ago today! Then the next day we went to Canada so that i could introduce my family to my fiance! I remember it like yesterday.......

Chris took me down to the beach with our dogs! I had just gotten off of work and i really didn't want to go as we were leaving for Canada the next day and we still had to pack. So i was stressing and just plain grumpy! I told him the only way i would go is if he took me to Taco Bell. Not exactly the place i thought i would be eating the night Chris would propose but i had no idea what was about to happen that night! So we got to the beach and the whole time i was thinking when can we leave, and just as the sun was setting he got down on one knee! It was so romantic! Chris really surprised me, then the next day i got to surprise my parents and family in Canada with a Fiance! No one had any idea, and here we are 1 year later Mr. & Mrs. Wares!

I got a JOB!

So i finally landed myself a job! I am going to be selling modular homes! I am really excited, but nervous because of all the hours. So i wont have alot of time with Chris anymore! I work alot of hours and every other weekend, and with Chirs' schedule its always so busy. So we will see how this goes, i am just excited to work with other people and meet new people! Ill let you know how my first day at work goes! I start the 15th :)

Dennis + New York = PRICELESS!

It all started with a 10hr drive from Danville VA TO 567 HOAG RD NY! We left at 7pm and got there at 5am Saturday.It was a really long drive but well worth the trip, we cant wait to go back! So once we got there early Saturday Chris and I slept in our car in the drive way as Dennis had spent the night at his friend Phillips house. We got about 3 hours of good sleep and then it was off to see the sights of NY!I started my day out with a nice hot shower (IN THE BARN), and then we headed off to Phillip and Norma's house. Chris had met these people before but it was my first time. They were very nice and very friendly they told us that if we ever wanted to come back when Dennis was not there that we had a place to stay. So we sat and talked with them and listened to some stories, my favorite story and i will never forget this was one day Dennis and Phillip discovered these very large amounts of poop all over the ground, cars, house you name it was on it. Dennis and Phillip said that it was nothing they had ever seen before and did know what to think of it. So Dennis trying to take care of the situation decided to call the FAA and he riped the guy a new one on the phone telling him that airlines were dropping waste out of there planes. So the gentleman on the phone instructed Dennis to check the poop and if there was a black center it was not human poop but it was bird poop. Sure enough it turned out to be bird poop! They were astonished that it had come out of a bird! I thought it was so funny that Dennis had called the FAA! So after listening to many stories and having a few good laughs we carried on with our day and made our way to the Tractor store to pick up a few things. Then we stopped off at this road stand where they had all this fresh fruit, veggies, bread, jam, so many YUMMY things! We picked up 2 jars of jam made by the Amish, and some apples.Then we had lunch at Bob Evans, and also got some of there amazing BBQ sauce!!Then we went to Lowe's and Dennis bought a Washer, and a Fridge for his barn. We also stopped at Jamestown Mattress so he could get a bed! He is all set up to live in his barn now, and he loves it! After we ran errands and drove all over town we went back to the barn to set everything up and this is when Chris learned WHAT and HOW to Brush Hog!Its basically cutting the grass but when its over grown and a lawn mower wont do the trick you hook this part up to the back of the tractor and cut all the yard with that. It took Chris 1 day to complete about 5acres. After a while Chris started to look the part...Shirt off, drinking a pop, and just enjoying what he was doing. He even offered to Brush Hog other peoples property! We had to call him in for dinner, otherwise he would have been out there all night. So Dennis took us to this place called "The Bucket" and its known for its Fish Fry however by the time that we got to Sugar Grove PA (about 10 miles from the barn) they were sold out of this Fish Fry, so we had some other type of fish.I have no idea what i ate but it was good! Sugar Grove is this very small little town, but its one of Dennis favorite places to go! He drove his Gator there and keep in mind that his gator only goes about 20mph! So it takes time for him to go shopping! So after dinner we went back to the barn and Chris and I busted out our air mattress and we set up our bed in the middle of the barn! I never thought i would be able to say that i slept in a barn! But it really wasn't that bad, the best part was waking up opening the barn doors, and just taking in the view that they have! Its incredible,i just felt this sense of peace come over me! Once we got up and moving (SUNDAY) we went Charlene's house (a cousin to Dennis)they showed us there property and all the cows that they have. We even fed the cows apples! I thought only horses ate apples.So we hung out there for a little while and then we headed off to Phylis house (another cousin) we only visited with her a little while as we had so much to see! Dennis wanted to show us where the family grave yard was, this is where his grandfather, grandmother, his father, and both aunts, and the extended family are buried. There is so much Wares Family History here its incredible! After the walk down his family history we went to another one of Dennis favorite places to eat its a small General Store in Ashville. They have amazing PIZZA there, everything is fresh and made to order! The cheese is even fresh!! Once we were done with lunch Dennis took us threw the town that he grew up in Jamestown. it was really cool to drive down the streets where Dennis' grandfather Bird Wares gave him his first bike and told him "here's your freedom boy" and that's what Dennis used it for. Dennis rode his bike all over this town as a little kid. and even to his favorite candy shop!the look on Dennis' face when he got to show us where he grew up was priceless. It seemed like he turned back into a little kid all over again.This was one of the best afternoons we have had in a long time, meeting the family, seeing the history, hanging out with Dennis and just enjoying life I have never see Dennis this relaxed and so happy as i did when he was in New York. This state gives you a feeling where you don't want to leave!You just feel so peaceful and carefree! I know i was there. Now Chris and I know why him and Cheryl want to retire there. Its so beautiful back there.Being able to watch Chris and Dennis bond the way they did, with nothing but property, a barn, and a tractor was really something. Chris and I did not want to go home, if Chris could have taken 1 or 2 days off we would still be there, and i would not be writing my blog as we drive home.But we know that all great things must come to an end at some point. So this morning we went for breakfast at Tim Horton's! This was a huge treat for me Tim Horton's is really big in Canada and i only get it when i go back to visit so when i saw that they had one there i just had to have my last meal there!Its a coffee shop with donuts, and sandwich's, and so many amazing baked goods! I took a small piece home with me TIM BITS! (Doughnut holes to you Americans)Then Dennis took us to the Amish country and it was so neat to see how this people live, Dennis wanted a picnic table so we went to Johnny the guy who built the barn and he took us to his brothers house who builds picnic tables and so much more, it was really cool to see these men do what they do best build things!Chris and I really enjoyed our Labor day weekend with Dennis it was one of the best times that i have ever had with Dennis and Chris. If you ever get the chance to go and Visit Dennis and Cheryl in New York i urge you to make the trip, it will change your life!
